BIRT is seeking to appoint a Main Contractor

The team is seeking to appoint a main contractor to carry out the works to renovate the former Baily’s Factory, which is expected to last two years.

This appointment will be made following a two-stage tender process, with the first stage commencing in March 2024.

Any construction companies wishing to be considered for this tender should contact BIRT’s Contract Administrator by no later than 5:00pm on Friday 15th March 2024.

All companies must be based within 50 miles of Glastonbury and be able to demonstrate recent experience of high value historic/refurbishment projects.

All expressions of interest will be given appropriate consideration before any decisions are made as to suitability for inclusion on the tender list.

Please note, there will be a separate process for smaller local construction companies/tradesmen wishing to be employed as sub-contractors or suppliers to the main contractor. Details of this will be announced in due course

The Beckery Island Regeneration Trust Baily’s Project is the largest project of the Glastonbury Town Deal. It will redevelop the buildings into a zero-carbon hub for local start-up, small and growing businesses, educational groups and workshops. The complex will include space dedicated to celebrating the industrial past of Glastonbury.
